New Intake for Sacrament Teachers Undergo Initial Training

St.Martin pastoral center, diocese of Aitape.

From July 7th to 24th, a three-week training course was held for new sacrament teacher candidates. A total of 70 participants enrolled in the program, with 69 successfully completing the course after one participant withdrew.

This group, together with 16 others who joined for a refresher course, completed only the Introduction to the Sacraments module. As such, they are not yet eligible to teach sacrament lessons until they have fully completed the entire sacrament formation program, which includes in-depth sessions on each sacrament and pedagogical methods for teaching.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to Bishop Siby Mathew, Fr. Hugh, Fr. George, the priests, and the dedicated women working in the Diocesan Office for their unwavering support. Everything went smoothly, and we are grateful to God for His blessings on this important formation journey.
