Clergy Conference No. 8

Clergy Conference No. 8

From January 14 to January 16, 2025, the St. John of God Conference Centre was transformed into a hub of spiritual leadership and vision as it hosted the 8th Clergy Conference. This significant event brought together clergy members and religious leaders to engage in thoughtful deliberations over a packed agenda of 27 items, addressing critical issues pertinent to the diocese and the larger Church community.

A key focus of the conference was the planning and programming for the Universal Church’s Jubilee Year 2025. The spiritual leaders of the Aitape diocese discussed and outlined comprehensive initiatives aimed at rejuvenating the faith and involvement of the Catholic community globally during this sacred year of renewal.

In addition to these discussions, the conference also centered on the diocesan-level Eucharistic Years, set to span the next two years. Under the theme “Take and eat. This is my body,” the leaders designed an array of events and activities to deepen the faithful’s understanding and reverence for the Eucharist. This theme underscores the core of the Eucharistic celebration, inviting believers to reflect on the profound mystery of Christ’s presence in the sacrament.

The Clergy Conference No. 8 served not only as a forum for addressing administrative and pastoral matters but also as a testament to the unity and dedication of the Church’s leaders in guiding their flock with wisdom and compassion. The outcomes of these discussions are expected to significantly influence the spiritual direction and growth of the Aitape diocese in the years ahead.

As the conference concluded, participants left with a renewed sense of purpose and anticipation, eager to implement the resolutions and share the fruits of their discussions with their communities.
